My story

Hi! My name is Russ. I am a 3 year old, soon to be neutered Border Collie mix. I am microchipped, heartworm tested and current on my vaccines. 3 words that describe me: Curious, Independent, and Relaxed. Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: Slow introductions work best for Russ, especially when meeting new people. He’s a shy guy at first, but once he warms up—especially with some of the female staff—he’s all in, jumping into laps and soaking up every bit of affection. He does tolerate male staff as well, but tends to be more cautious and appreciates a gentle, patient approach from men. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10) 7/8 Housetraining Status: Russ is currently working on his house training and making steady progress each day here at the shelter. I should do well in a home: Russ would do best in a home with children aged 5 and up. Since he can be a bit skittish, we believe kids at that age are more likely to respect his need for space and move at his pace. Russ should also do well with other dogs in the household, given proper introductions and time to adjust. We’re currently unsure how he feels about feline friends. My favorite activities are: I LOVE tennis balls! Things I need work on are: Basic Commands Any special needs: N/A Doggy Day out notes: "Russ was a lot of fun to have on his doggy day out! He loves to chase a tennis ball and play with a rope toy. This little guy loves affection including butt scratches. He is very smart and quick on his feet, well... paws. he loved to run around in the park on a long line enjoying having some freedom, smells and sights. Loved having him out and he was very much well behaved." *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Russ, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
