This gorgeous gal — a spunky mix of Belgian Malinois and Great Pyrenees — is destined to be a big, outdoors-loving bundle of joy. Carpenter is bursting with energy and potential, just waiting for a family who’s excited to help her learn the ropes of housetraining, leash manners, and all the basics that will turn her into a superstar companion. She’s already got a “sit” down pat here at the shelter — talk about smart! Even better, thanks to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation, you’ll get a training voucher for sessions with a certified local trainer. That means you and Carpenter can start off on the right paw together! Come meet this beautiful, slightly mischievous pup and kick off your very own puppy-raising adventure. If you’re ready for a loyal, hard-working dog to share a lifetime of fun, Carpenter is waiting for you!Carpenter`s adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to “Leave No One Behind Fund” – designed to adopter’s eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelter’s care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter.The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
