My story

Here's Katie's Bio. Katie is truly a good dog! So sweet. So loving. So smart. She really enjoys being petted, going on long walks, and car rides. When she wants something, such as being petted, she will nudge you to remind you of the loving dog that is waiting for your attention. And, of course, she loves her Greenies! Katie is an Australian Red Heeler mix with a beautiful face with dark points not found in the purebred Red Heelers. The entire time she has lived with us, she has never barked. Katie is a quiet dog. She doesn’t try to chase the cats at my apartment complex. She looks at them but doesn’t even make a move toward them. She does want to play with the dogs here. She hasn’t been able to but you can tell playful mode when she sees another dog. I think she would really like a friendly, playful dog companion. However, chicken is not her friend. Her vet and my mentor, Julia, determined she was allergic to chicken. Everything I had been feeding her was some form of chicken. Once the chicken allergy was diagnosed we switched her to beef and rice. Eureka! She felt better almost instantaneously. I was so relieved. She is such a great dog and I didn’t want her to be ill. Katie will make an excellent friend and companion to whomever is lucky enough to adopt her but don’t feed her chicken!
