My story

When we first met Dolly at the county shelter, our hearts broke. This gentle, weary mama had clearly endured so much—her frail body and soulful eyes told a story of hardship we couldn’t ignore. We knew immediately that she needed a second chance, and we were determined to give her one. Since coming to the sanctuary, Dolly has blossomed. With time, love, and care, she has transformed into a happy, healthy girl who’s now ready for her forever home. She’s currently in a professional board and train program with our trusted partners at Connected Canines, where she’s learning valuable skills to help her thrive in a home environment. The trainers have quickly fallen in love with her—one even joked that Dolly gives them “heart eyes” every day. At 6 years old, Dolly is a Pitbull mix with a calm spirit and a heart full of love. She’s fully vetted—vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped—and she carries herself with a quiet grace that touches everyone she meets. Dolly is a special soul. She greets her people with a soft gaze, a slow wag of her tail, and what we lovingly call her “cold kisses”—gentle nuzzles that melt your heart. Everyone at the sanctuary adores her, and we know the right family will, too. Dolly has waited patiently for a love that lasts.
