My story

Hi, my name is Hazel and I’m a 2 year old female Chocolate Labrador Retriever who is eager for a new home! I'm your typical happy go lucky gal; I love to be social and am affiliative with people whenever I get visits. Treats are the way to my heart as I'm a self proclaimed foodie and will never say no to a yummy scooby snack. I walk well on leash, although I could brush up on some leash manners, but snacks always make training more fun; I already know sit & shake! I'd also love for my fur-ever home to have a yard to run around in. Once I get some zoomies out, I'm content just laying down and enjoying some sun. Sunbathing is very important this time of year with summer just around the corner! Maybe we can sunbathe and chill? But don't leave me out too long- I just might turn into a crispy potato! So, if you're someone who'd want a buddy to venture out into the world together and can take me into their home with a nice warm bed to hop on, come visit me at the Santa Barbara campus! Interested in meeting me? Adoption Centers are open daily 12-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Adoptions are on a first-come first served basis. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Purina will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Our retail area offers a variety of doggy essentials and all proceeds go back to helping the next animal in need!
