My story

Meet Dory!Dory is currently living in an office with her BFF (Best Feline Friend) Whiskers and would love a home with other friendly cats. While she prefers cuddling with Whiskers, she’s beginning to warm up to her human coworkers—greeting them with chirps and stretches. Once comfortable, she even gets a little silly and playful!Dory needs a quiet, patient home with a cat-savvy adopter who can help her come out of her shell. She adjusts slowly and can be easily stressed by change, so a gradual, gentle transition is key. Our team can help you prepare to welcome a shy cat like Dory.Dory may always prefer a small, familiar circle of people. She shouldn`t be forced to meet guests or interact when she’s uncomfortable. She’s the kind of cat who likes to pet herself on you—meaning she’ll seek out affection when she’s ready.Think Dory might be the one?Come visit her at Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem. Staff and volunteers will be happy to help you meet her!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt DORY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
