My story

Meet Lucy! Lucy is an adorable 1 year old German Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray. She was originally found by GoodBoy Dog Recovery. They helped bring her to safety, and then into our care, where she received the medical attention and care that she needed. GoodBoy Dog Recovery is a non-profit organization that helps countless dogs who are lost, alone, and afraid to get back to safety. The dogs they save are both missing from their loving owners and other times, lost with no where to go back to. We are able to help those lost dogs take that next step to find their forever home, and we are very grateful for this partnership that impacts so many dogs in our local community. It takes a village in rescue! Lucy is sweet lady who was found abandoned in Philadelphia, hiding behind a dumpster. She was emaciated, had mange, and recently had puppies (because she was still producing milk). She is a very sweet girl that is recovering beautifully! She loves her people, and plays well with large dogs. She does have a strong prey drive however, so cannot live with cats or small dogs. As with all rescue dogs, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learns to live in a house and around people.
