Chloe AKA Merkava

My story

Meet Chloe, also known as Merkava, a sweet 5-year-old mixed breed. She was originally rescued from the Redlands and brought to Big Dog Ranch as a pregnant mom. She gave birth to 10 healthy puppies, all of whom have found loving homes. She was previously adopted and returned due to destructive behavior linked to separation and storm anxiety. Merkava thrives on companionship and does best when she’s not left alone for long periods. Because of this, crate training is strongly recommended during her times alone in the home. Merkava has a gentle, low-energy temperament. She’s great on a leash, housetrained, and knows basic commands. She does well with other dogs and is friendly with children, making her a wonderful option for many different types of homes — including apartments or condos. She’s affectionate and loves to cuddle, play with toys, and especially enjoys the water. Merkava would do well with an adopter who may have little to no prior dog experience, as long as they are willing to follow a routine and provide the structure and support she needs. She's an incredibly sweet dog who’s been through a lot, and she’s ready for someone who will give her the time, patience, and love she deserves.
