Seraphine

My story

Seraphine is a fun-loving, playful cat. Although she may take several days to relax in a new environment, soon enough she settles down and starts seeking out attention and play time. Not particularly a lap cat (although she is starting to enjoy that part of life and sat in her foster's lap for about 10 minutes recently), she prefers to lay beside you on the floor where she can squirm and roll around and where she can get firm pets and chin scritches. She loves playing with a feather wand toy and will leap to amazing heights with delight! She has also been a perfect user of appropriate scratching options (a post or cardboard scratcher, either vertical or horizontal) and has not attempted to use the couch or other inappropriate scratching surface in her foster home thus far.  Seraphine is sure to bring her forever family much affection and joy!  Barely more than a kitten herself, she and her sister came to us pregnant and had kittens within one day of each other, 3 each.   She loves Churu treats and toppers, and it will take her a few days to settle in before she will eat much normal food (wet or dry).  In her foster home, she has been fine from the start with another calm cat that was not in her face.  Her latest rooommate is a boy who wants her to play with him ASAP.  She is taking a bit of time to be ready for that, but is making progress and can play right beside him now with the wand toy without issue.     Seraphine is waiting to meet you at Thrift Hound, 234 New Leicester Hwy, during business hours 6 days a week. Applications are not processed in the store so if you hope to take her home the same day you meet her, be sure to submit the online application and wait for one of our adoption counselors to give you a call.  All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.      All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
