Meet Libby, the big girl with a bigger heart! She’s a gentle giant with the sweetest soul! Libby is a stunning lady with a soft demeanor and a deep desire to make her people happy. Immediately when we met, she just melted into my arms and wanted to be adored. She’s affectionate, gentle, and incredibly eager to please, especially if you have treats and a kind voice! We believe that Libby is a shepherd mix and about 4 years old. Her slender body, soft fur, and fluffy tail led us to that hypothesis. She also weighs in at about 77 pounds. She doesn’t have a crazy energy like that of a puppy. She is more mature and easy to handle. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed. She has this signature move to get you to fall in love with her! It consists of raising one paw, then the other, in order to get praise and hopefully a bit of cheese, L O L. It was so cute to see her offer her paw automatically in exchange for treats! I got a couple of clips of her inaction that you should check out in her video below! https://youtu.be/VPeR_GiDBMc She’d thrive in a home with space to stretch her legs, so no apartments for this tall girl. She is pretty mellow energy, so she won’t be the first one at the door to sprint across the yard. But she would enjoy the occasional leisurely walk with her humans. It was so cute to see her entertain our 4 year old kiddo Kobe! He led her around the yard like she was his horse and she just played along! She definitely appreciated the attention and was happy to reciprocate. Her temperament is ideal for a family environment, especially one with respectful children. She was incredibly loving and sweet, earning her the title of gentle giant. Libby enjoys the company of other dogs but isn’t pushy about it. During her visit with us, she had no problem hanging out with all the dogs in the yard! She was more of the chill and wise soul than the rambunctious and rowdy playmate. If there is another dog in her future home, she’d do best with a calm, mature, medium-energy dog who lets her open up at her own pace. She will happily entertain if invited but is equally content soaking up attention as the only dog in the home. Regarding cats, the only time we witnessed her become extremely intrigued by another being’s presence was when she met our housecat, Biggie! The intrigue was so great that we felt that fellow felines would not appreciate her interest in them. Due to this, we believe she would be best in a home with no cats. If you're searching for a loyal, loving companion who’s as sweet as she is striking, Libby is ready to be your family’s new best friend! She would be an absolute treasure to anyone who is fortunate enough to experience her love! Is Libby the one you’ve been looking for? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
