My story

At our Compton chemical plant rescue (April 2024), we knew that we were there to save a litter of newborn kittens, we just did not expect them to be 15-20 feet in the air. We had no idea where they were, all we could hear was crying and crying. After 30+mins of searching, we figured out that the kittens were up inside foam pads that were stacked inside an industrial warehouse. The foam pads were stacked on top of metal beams and wood platforms, which totally seemed unsafe to walk across. - After walking across the wooden beams and lifting 6 stacked foam pads, the kitten had it’s small claws in the last foam pad. Leia was the sole survivor and it was apparent her mother abandoned her. We named her Leia because “the force is strong”. We knew this girl was a fighter. Leia is extremely outgoing and loves to play with people and other cats. Since she was bottle fed by us, she adores human attention and appears to have no fears. She is confident, sassy, petite, and surely cute!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Leia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
