My story

Breed – DSH orange tabby Spayed Female Weight – Estimated Age – just under a year If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out our cat adoption questionnaire at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTAR/Cat. For questions, email saufenka@yahoo.com. HOW TO MEET THIS CAT: This cat is in a foster home. To meet, please complete the adoption questionnaire. LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Shana, saufenka@yahoo.com ADOPTION FEE: $170. This fee INCLUDES neuter, vaccines, and microchip. Ask us about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, and other discounts! HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Good with other cats and needs a cat friend DOGS: Dogs are unknown but may be ok with proper introductions KIDS: Kids are unknown but likely fine with responsible kids KNOWN LIKES: Cuddle and held by people, play time with cat friends and toys KNOWN DISLIKES: None so far ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: This pretty young lady is Gem and just like her namesake, she has a beautiful and captivating personality. She was rescued off the streets In Amman, Jordan, as a small kitten when she became very sick with an upper respiratory infection and a fungus that caused her fur to fall out. With lots of patience and TLC she was nursed back to health and has been a happy indoor cat ever since. She’s flown around the world with another kitty pal Sasha to find forever homes. Gem is a chatty little cat that will meow when she sees her person and instantly starts to purr when she hears her name. She absolutely loves being picked up and petted and is her Foster’s constant companion on the couch or bed. This little cat has never met a toy she did not like and will spend hours happily playing with them all over her Foster’s apartment. She also likes to help her Foster make the bed and dives under the sheets and blankets to check to make sure it is done to perfection. Although she has never seen a dog or a child before Gem is young and well-mannered so she should have no problems adjusting to households with them provided she has the proper introductions. She gets along well with her Foster roommates so meeting new cats as part of her Forever family will not be a problem either. HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine (if old enough), and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption. A portion of EVERY ADOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities. BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gem, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
