My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. The results are in: According to Wisdom Panel DNA testing Smokey Bones is a mix of 4 breeds: 37% Pomeranian plus 35% Siberian Husky [Pomsky] and 17% Bichon Frise with 11% Yorkshire Terrier thrown in for good measure [now we know where those big ears came from]! This was a surprise since most people thought Smokey Bones was a Cairn Terrier or Miniature Schnauzer mix.  Click on the link to view Smokey Bones' entire DNA Report  www.wisdompanel.com/app/s/zqxf5rb/reports Hi there!  Smokey Bones here.  What a surprise about my breed mix, huh?  I had my foster mom and everyone else fooled.  There is a little of something for everyone in my breed mix and if you want to learn more about what you can expect of me, check-out each breed's behaviors and personality.  It is a pretty accurate snapshot of me. I must admit I’m a chewer.  The more to chew, the better.  Now, I bet you’re thinking, “he’ll chew everything”…and you are kinda right.  But my foster mom makes sure I have plenty of appropriate things to chew so I don’t grab her slippers.  I also really like people and other dogs.  I get a little silly when meeting new people and sometimes jump around.  I’ve lived with a cat, but he didn’t appreciate me chasing him around.  I don’t bark much; and considering all the barkie breeds in my DNA, that's pretty impressive!   Oh, did I mention I’m very smart!  I know all these commands: sit, down [lie down on floor], paw [to shake], other [to shake the other paw], off, quiet, sit-n-wait [for dinner], no jump, no bite and no.  And I’m learning how to ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’, ‘come’, 'roll over' and others.  I love to chase after leaves blowing in the wind, ants crawling around, bugs flying in the air.  Actually, I love to chase anything that moves! My foster mom says I sometimes get ‘selective hearing’ and don’t come when called, especially when something super cool gets my attention.  But hey…don’t we all have a few flaws??  Now for the all-important question—am I housetrained??  Well; that’s a yes and a no.  Let me first say I am working very hard on this AND making progress!   The problem has to do with some value in my urine called Specific Gravity.  It is really low and my urine very dilute…whatever that means.  So…I tend to pee a lot.  I guess more than most dogs, but let me stress again…I am working very hard on letting my foster mom know I have to go potty.  I keep my crate super clean when I’m in it and don’t mind sleeping there all night.  My foster mom keeps a diaper on me in the house [yes; it’s embarrassing] and that really helps keep things clean and tidy in the home….if you know what I mean. Eventually, I won't need one anymore...woo hoo!! The doggie doctor advised my foster mom to keep me on a low protein diet which seems to be helping.  Plus my foster mom keeps a pretty strict schedule so that helps a lot too!  Please don’t let my frequent peeing keep you from wanting me.  I know you would need to be patient with me, but I promise you all the puppy kisses you could ever imagine.  And because I’m so smart, you could teach me more tricks.  I may even excel in agility training if you would teach me.  So what do you say....??? Smokey Bones is UTD on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.
