My story

Are you looking for a senior cat to have in your life? Sophie is a gorgeous female tortie cat that is just under 11 years old who loves attention and pets. Sophie also loves food...especially squeeze treats. Sophie came to our rescue by a Good Samaritan who found her (along with another senior cat) abandoned in the woods half submerged in water! Thankfully, both cats were okay. We don't know why someone would just discard these two amazing cats, but we will find both of them the forever home that deserves them. We have also done senior bloodwork on Sophie and all is within normal limits for her age. Sophie has been through A LOT since coming to our rescue. She had a bad upper respiratory infection that also affected her eyes. A number of antibiotics and eye medications were tried, but ultimately she had to have one of her eyes removed. Once she recovered from that surgery she then had to have dental surgery in August 2024.  She recovered from both surgeries well and now just needs to find her forever home!  While Sophie came into our rescue with Ollie, they do not appear bonded (although we would love for someone to adopt them together). Sophie does need another laid back feline friend as she is ALWAYS snuggling with one of her house mates.Sophie would also do well around older children. Cats are negative for FelV/FIV, receive age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, are spayed/neutered and are microchipped (free lifetime registration with adoption). All of our pets go home with a "Go Home Goody Bag" that includes a starter supply of food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a free month of pet insurance from Trupanion.
