My story

Introducing Keen, a sweet and spirited pit bull with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Keen is the kind of dog who lights up a room with his goofy grin, then zooms off to chase his favorite toy like it’s the best day ever (because for Keen, it probably is!). Keen has a loving, affectionate side and is happiest when he’s near his people—or better yet, playing with a toy. Give him a good squeaky toy, and the rest of the world fades away. He’s got a zest for life that’s infectious and will keep you smiling. Keen recently underwent foreign body surgery after an unexpected medical emergency. Sadly, his previous family couldn't afford the care he needed and made the incredibly tough decision to surrender him so he could get help. Despite it all, Keen remains full of life, love, and resilience. He does well with other dogs and enjoys their company, though he tends to prefer short bursts of play followed by solo toy time or some yard exploration. While he bonds deeply, Keen does experience anxiety—so he’s looking for a patient, understanding adopter who can provide structure, reassurance, and a safe space to settle in and grow confident. Keen will thrive in a home where he’s given time to decompress, routines to rely on, and—of course—a steady supply of toys to carry around proudly. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
