Brownie is a four-month old Australian Cattle Dog Mix male puppy weighing 20 pounds. Brownie is estimated to weigh between 45-60 lbs as an adult. Brownie is the last remaining puppy of the Sweets Litter, born to Mama Cookie. Cookie and all of Brownie's littermates have been adopted and are living their best lives with their furever families. Brownie has been with his foster mama in Harrisburg, PA undergoing medical evaluation awaiting his opportunity to find a furever family. One Friday evening, Brownie pressed pause on his play session and displayed some neurological symptoms; therefore, he was placed on medical hold and deemed not adoptable until the rescue could determine the cause of this activity and identify appropriate treatment. Brownie has been evaluated by a multitude of vet specialists (reports available to potential adopters) and has been cleared for adoption with daily medication. Brownie is taking Keppra to minimize his symptoms. Estimated monthly cost using "GoodRX" coupon is $20. This neurological activity does not impact Brownie's day-to-day activity, and the neurology team at UPenn in Philadelphia reported this activity will not negatively impact his lifespan. Brownie is an active and playful puppy who is still working on learning some core manners. He would be an ideal hiking/jogging partner or would absolutely be smitten with an active doggie playmate in his furever home to help him release his puppy energy. Once his energy needs are met, he is absolute velcro. He wants to be with his person, next to his person, on his person...as close as he can get for snuggles. While Brownie has been utilizing a crate in his foster environment since 6 weeks, his preference is to be as close to his people as possible, snuggled together, receiving all of the love and attention available. Brownie has been fostered with dogs from XS to XL as well as cats/kittens and is good with them all, but could be too playful for a cat unwilling to play with an active puppy. Brownie can be timid around new people and new environments, but he acclimates quickly with proper intros and pawsitive reassurance (and treats!) Brownie rides well in the car as a co-pilot. Brownie is current on vaccines and monthly preventatives and is awaiting your application for adoption: www.pack9rescue.org/applications . New Oxford PA 17350; LIC # 9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate.
