My story

Maverick is a petite cattle-dog mix with hints of Corgi (or another compact herding breed) that give him a low-riding frame, big puppy eyes, and an extra dose of spunk. Maverick is a quick thinker and eager learner. Flash a treat or offer a kind word, and he’s right there, ready to figure out what you’re asking. Because he’s still a puppy, he’ll benefit from positive, consistent training—and his sharp herding-dog brain means he’ll master new cues in no time. This little explorer loves to be part of the action. Whether it’s tagging along on neighborhood walks, chasing a ball across the yard, or snuggling in your lap after a day of play, Maverick greets every moment with enthusiasm. He adores people, happily soaking up affection and doling out puppy kisses whenever he can. Give Maverick the guidance, exercise, and love an energetic herding pup needs, and he’ll blossom into a devoted sidekick—always ready to blaze new trails with you and share the adventure every step of the way. Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard. If you have any questions or to adopt a dog an application must submitted.
