My story

This little cutie is Oso! Oso is a 7-month-old, Maltipoo and he’s EXTRA special. Oso came into a high intake shelter in Texas with what is believed to be his sibling and a relative. His sibling immediately got tagged by a local rescue, but they left Oso and his other housemate (who has since been adopted) behind. Why would they do that? Well, Oso has Cerebellar hypoplasia. What the heck is that? It’s when the cerebellum is smaller than usual. While most often seen in cats, it can be seen in dogs and Oso isn’t the first MHCR pup to have it. What does it mean? It’s easy! Oso is just kinda wobbly sometimes. He doesn’t take meds, he doesn’t really have any special needs – although sometimes he can be messy when he eats and ideally a lot of stairs aren’t a great idea. He’s just like any other dog developmentally, just walks a little funny! Oso is very in tune with his humans and follows his foster mom everywhere. He seems house-trained, gets along with humans and dogs of all sizes. Carpeted flooring or rugs will suit him best, but sections of hardwood or tile are fine. He will require regular grooming, like any maltipoo Oso is likely not a candidate for apartment living as he thinks crates are quite dumb. He’s a young, sweet, playful pup that will make a great addition to nearly any home. Oso is in foster in Parker, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/oso You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Oso, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
