My story

Everyone meet Maggie! This sweet girl was found at a local church a while back and she was in pretty bad shape. She was nothing but bones and a big belly. So much belly, we just knew she was getting ready to deliver a punch of puppies. But, she was full of heartworms and in heart failure because of them. We named her Wilma, but that all changed later thanks to the lady that found her. She agreed to foster her and nurse her back to health. After getting her on the road to recovery, she saw this amazing girl’s personality and thought Maggie suited her best, and we couldn’t agree more. The finder kept her word and brought this beautiful girl back to life. They formed a great relationship and Maggie stayed with her. Now they could both use your help. Maggie now needs a new home or foster. Her mom is having some health issues that are making it hard to care for Maggie. Simply put, she is not physically able to get out and take Maggie out and do the basic things dogs enjoy. Maggie is a complete sweetheart and wants to be loved. She is good around male dogs but so far not fond of other female dogs. She loves to chase squirrels, so we think she may feel the same about cats and don’t recommend she be in a home with them. She walks good on a leash. She’s really a good companion. This has not been an easy decision for her mom, and she’s praying the right person is reading this post. If you want to meet Maggie, please let us know! You won’t regret opening your heart and home to this love bug❤️ Maggie is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maggie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
