My story

Meet Mitzi – From Forgotten to Fabulous, She’s Ready for Her Fairy Tale Ending   This stunning girl is Mitzi, and while her story began with promise, it quickly turned into one of neglect and heartbreak. Originally brought into a home to 'protect chickens,' it didn’t take long for her humans to decide she wasn’t cut out for the job. Instead of being treated like the loyal companion she was meant to be, Mitzi was cast aside — left alone in an outdoor kennel, where love, comfort, and even basic care were nowhere to be found.   By just 10 months old, Mitzi was so matted and dirty that you couldn’t even tell what gender she was. She was underweight, ignored, and completely forgotten — until now.   Thanks to Critter Cavalry Rescue, Mitzi has been given a new chance at life. She’s been lovingly shaved down, bathed, vetted, and spayed. And for the first time in her young life, she’s in a foster home where she’s finally feeling what it’s like to be wanted. Her eyes are brighter, her tail wags with hope, and she’s soaking up the love and kindness like sunshine.   Now at 43 pounds, Mitzi still has some growing and filling out to do — we expect she’ll blossom into a healthy, happy 55-60 pound girl. She’s great with other dogs, friendly with every person she meets, and eager to start her new chapter. She’s never had the chance to live inside a home, but she’s learning fast — and with patience and love, she’ll become the perfect housemate in no time.   Mitzi is not just beautiful on the outside — she has a gentle, soulful spirit that’s ready to bond deeply with someone who will finally love her for who she is. No expectations. No cages. Just unconditional love and the joy of being part of a real family.   Whether you're in Tennessee or in the Northeast, Mitzi can come home to you — she’s available for local adoption and also for transport to an approved home up north.   If your heart is open to giving this sweet girl the life she’s always deserved, please reach out. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com ask about Mitzi.   Her past is behind her — and with your love, her future could be a Cinderella story in the making.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 20, 2025, 9:55 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt MITZI, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
