My story

Meet Breezy!Breezy is a fun, loving, happy, bouncy guy who loves to explore, play, and then crash for a nap at your feet. He’s curious and full of energy, but also knows how to settle down. He’s interested in playing with other dogs, especially ones who are as playful as he is. He has been very gentle and calm around babies, and has been great with kids with the occasional playful hop. Breezy is crate trained—he sleeps in his crate at night and likes to hang out there during the day when he needs a break, although he loves to snuggle on the bed and couch with you as well. He learned house training in a week, and is great at letting us know when he has to go outside! He’s got a beautiful coat, and the best part? He doesn’t shed much at all. He is the perfect dog for anyone looking for the best of both worlds. He is loving, cuddly, and gentle, but has the perfect energy for a long walk and play. He has shown the emotional intelligence to perfectly match the energy of what pleases those around him. 3 Keywords for your pup: playful, loving, highly-trainable  Energy Level: 7Breezy is an overall energetic dog, but is also a big cuddler, who benefits greatly from routine. He loves his morning walk and also loves his morning/mid day snoozes. Breezy naps during the day after a good walk and most of his energy comes in the early evening. He loves to play with toys and if given a good run and some play, tuckers himself out right in time for bed. He is a perfect dog for anyone who likes to go outside and exercise, but also kick back on the couch after a long day. Breezy also is a great companion when working from home. He does not make any noise and will often sit next to you or lay in his crate until he has your attention back. Walking manners: Breezy is so fun to walk! If it was up to him, he would sniff everything and everyone all around. He will stop, sit, and wait patiently when told, and often will turn around for check-ins. Breezy is very social, yet well-mannered on the leash. He has show playfullness while also retaining calmness and responsiveness when needed. He can go on very long walks right by your side with you and is very good with other dogs we might cross paths with you in the city. He has done extremely well staying calm walking through new areas such as stores and other apartment building lobbies. Breezy has also been a calm companion on the Metro North train and is able to sleep peacefully during car rides. Appetite: Voracious! Not picky with treats and will play with new foods (ice cube). Breezy loves peanut butter in his Kong, it can occupy him for hours! He always eats his entire breakfast/dinner and does not beg when you are eating next to him. Breezy is highly reward driven, especially with treats. He has quickly developed learned habits from positive reinforcement whether in the home or out on walks. He has shown great motivation to please and learn and has done so very quickly. Favorite things: Breezy loves his Kong toy and any type of interactive toy where he needs to investigate and search for his treats. He is very good at fetching, returning, and dropping whatever it is you tell him to go retrieve and always sits without command once he brings it back.Commands/Tricks: great at sit, lay down, paw, shake. He is excited on the leash and loves sniffing everything, but once he receives a command to stop, sit or give you his attention on a walk, he is a great listener. He also knows "drop it" and will sit and wait until given a command before going to eat any of his food. He has great impulse control. ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.
