My story

Hi, I’m Athena! I was rescued in Riverside with my mom and three siblings - Eros, Hermes, and Elektra. We spent our early days nursing from our mom before moving to a foster home to start weaning onto solid food. While our mom, who was a bit feral, found a peaceful barn home, my siblings and I are sweet, friendly, and full of spunk, ready to find our forever families! I had a bit of a rough start while I was still nursing, I caught an upper respiratory infection that made it hard to breathe - making nursing extremely difficult. As a result, I was very underweight. My foster mom worked hard to help me recover, teaching me how to eat solid food and giving me the medication I needed. Slowly but surely, I started feeling better, gaining weight, and getting back to my playful, kitten self. I was named after the Greek goddess of war because I truly am a little warrior, and I’m happy to say I’m now healthy and thriving! I’m a gentle, loving cat who loves to be close to my humans, especially when it’s time to nap. I’m all about curling up on laps and finding cozy spots to sleep. I’m also very intelligent and love solving puzzles, especially when it comes to toys! Playful yet calm, I’m the perfect companion for someone looking for a sweet, clever kitty with a nurturing spirit. In my foster home, I’ve been raised around other cats, children, and dogs of all sizes - and I get along wonderfully with everyone!Please note young kittens are adopted out in pairs or to a home with another playful cat or kitten.
