My story

Meet Papaya! Hi there! My name is Papaya, but my foster family calls me Piyah. I’m a 3-4year-old Yorkie mix, and my foster mommy and daddy tell me all the time what a good girl I am! I have a laid-back personality and love to sleep, but don’t let that fool you—I’m always up for some treats! I get along well with dogs big and small, and once I warm up to you, I’ll be your little shadow (yes, even following you to the bathroom!). I walk well on a leash, and while I don’t love being carried, I don’t mind car rides—I usually just take a nap once I’m settled in. I’m also crate trained and find it to be a cozy little space to rest. Because I’m a little momma, I love being warm and don’t enjoy the cold or rain. I would do best in a calmer environment with a patient and kind person who will give me the time I need to be my best self. I also need another friendly dog in my home—I feel safest when I have a furry friend around, and I get anxious when left alone. Papaya is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She’s still working on her house training but is making great progress. She is dog and kid-friendly.
