Hi there. My name is Tessa. I am about 3 or 4 years old, and I have been told I am a bit of a mystery mix—maybe some beagle, maybe some hound—but if you look into my eyes, you’ll see something a little different. They say I have got the soul of an Australian shepherd, and honestly? I think they are right. I don’t bark or bay like a hound. Nope. I am more of the quiet, thoughtful type. But hand me a tennis ball, and suddenly I am all action. Fetch? Oh, I live for it. I will chase that ball down like it is my job, bring it right back, and drop it at your feet with a look that says, “Again?” I could do that all day if you let me. I have not had the easiest start. I have had a few litters of puppies—my last not too long ago—but I do not know where they ended up. That part of my story is a little blurry. What I do know is that I was found wandering the streets of Yuma, all alone. No one came looking for me. But I did not give up. I caught a ride to Phoenix, and now I am staying with the kind folks at Central Arizona Animal Rescue. They have taken good care of me— they got me spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I am healthy, I am safe, and I am ready for my next chapter. I get along great with my kennel buddy—he is a sweet guy—and I really like people. I am gentle, attentive, and I love being near my humans. I have not met any cats yet, so I can not say how I would do with them, but I am open to new friends. I would probably be just fine with kids too, especially the ones who like to throw balls. So… what do you say? Could you be my forever person? My fetch partner? My soft place to land? If you would like to meet me, just send an email to mike@caaronline.org. I will be here, waiting with my tail wagging and my heart wide open. If you are unable to adopt me, please share my video to help me find my forever home. Let’s start our story together with a tennis ball. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail. All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.
