My story

Location: St Paul Park, MN Meet Cheez-It (aka “Flower”) Cheez-It is a small, sassy, and spirited puppy who came into foster care underweight, scared, and in rough shape—but she’s quickly blossoming into a playful, affectionate companion. Named “Flower” by her foster mom due to her shy, expressive eyes, she’s now full of spunk and personality. Personality & Behavior Playful & Feisty: Loves tug-of-war, toys, and getting into trouble with her sister Ritz. Affectionate: Enjoys cuddling, stretching out like a cat, and giving sweet kisses. Curious & Bold: Not afraid of big dogs (even her 135lb foster brother!) and always exploring. Bossy but Sweet: Has a funny, strong personality but snuggles up adorably when tired. Current Needs & Challenges Separation Anxiety: Cheez-It hates being apart from people and cry loudly when kenneled during the day. Nighttime is better—they settle down and sleep through the night after some play. Kennel Aversion: Tolerates the kennel at night but dislikes being confined during the day. Needs someone home most of the time. Food Aggression: Must be fed separately due to past food insecurity; attacks her food with urgency. Potty Training: Learning to use pads and shows signs she was previously scolded. Making progress with consistency. No Leash Training Yet: Needs to continue gaining weight and stay in clean, safe spaces for now. Ideal Home Supervised Environment: She’s an escape artist from playpens and needs to be watched closely. Willing to Continue Training & Socializing: Still shy with strangers and adjusting to new experiences. Extras Medium energy with bursts of play and multiple naps needed throughout the day. Loves toys (and will fight over them), not aggressive over water. Not yet leash-trained; all outdoor play has been limited to a safe deck. She’d thrive as a lap dog and close companion—someone to spoil her, love her, and help her feel safe. Cheez-It is a funny, cuddly, mischievous little pup with lots of love to give. She’s been through a tough start but is ready for her forever home where she can feel secure, seen, and spoiled. 🐾💛 --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cheez-it, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
