BENTLY**

My story

Hello! Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive. OCAS will be helping by beginning my treatment but you`ll need to follow up with your veterinarian! During treatment I will be on an oral medication and will need to get a topical solution monthly until I have a Negative Heartworm Test. If you have any questions about this please ask to speak with a member of the medical staff.I am reported to be good with kids and my foster parents have had nothing but wonderful things to say about me! Of course slow, monitored introductions to any pets or people in a new home will be needed. Ask staff for information about introducing pets!My adoption fee has been fully sponsored.Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!INSIGHTS FROM MY FOSTER FAMILY:`We had a great time fostering Bentley for three weeks in June. In photos he appears huge, but this sweet little guy is not very large and only comes up to your knee. He got along great with our two cats and our nine year old dog, and would probably do well with a family of any size (as always, supervise introductions and introduce slowly). He loves to be with his people and is very affectionate; he also has a lot of energy for playing. Bentley does well on a leash with a minimum of wandering. He`s quite a silent dog and rarely barked or triggered on dog walks around other dogs. He seems to have been partly trained on pee pads so a new owner will want to patiently train Bentley on housebreaking (protect sensitive areas of the house and any place with carpeting until he locks in your expectations). We did allow him free access to food and water so he frequently overate and drank too much; a feeding schedule will likely help the housebreaking process.`If you`d like to learn more about this pet and/or meet this pet, please Click Here
