Bluey is in a foster home and available for adoption! Here's an update from her foster mom on July 20th: "Bluey has been my foster dog for about 2 months now. She is such an amazing dog! Bluey is housetrained, and learning "sit" and "touch" (our form of recall). She loves our dog and has been getting better with our cats, although she gets riled up by them and can't be allowed to play with them for safety reasons. She is friendly to every person and dog she meets! She's still staying in my office frequently while I work, and works as a greeter for passersby. At home, she has adjusted very well to our routine. She walks politely on the leash and is obsessed with snuggling us at night. We've taken her to parks for walks, and she's comfortable in the car. Her favorite kind of toy is a chew toy, and she's more likely to chew on our own things if she doesn't go on her morning walk. I marked her as "medium energy" because she's satisfied with only two 20-30 minutes walks a day, and will be cuddly and lovely besides that. If you've ever heard of a dog "corn cobbing", Bluey is the corn cob queen. She gives us affectionate nibbles before rolling to show her belly for pets. And when she rolls over, she starts to snort! We've taken to calling her our little piggy because of her short and stout body, and little pig snorts. I think Bluey would be a fantastic first-time dog, she knows commands and is already well-behaved. She can be playful but doesn't require an enormous amount of exercise to be satisfied. She's done well in an apartment setting and doesn't need a backyard to thrive. She would also do well in a house with other dogs."
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bluey, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
