My story

**Meet Bluey!** This 3-year-old sweetheart has been slowly coming out of her shell with the help of staff and a loving foster. At first, Bluey is shy and nervous—she lowers her body, avoids eye contact, and tucks her tail—but give her time and patience, and you’ll see her affectionate, loyal side shine through. Once outside, Bluey relaxes. She walks beautifully on a loose leash, loves to sniff and explore, and sticks close by your side like a true Velcro dog. She’s spent time in the office napping peacefully and calmly watching coworkers, and she’s growing more confident every day. She even went on a Starbucks run and rode quietly the whole way—though she wasn’t impressed with the pup cup! In playgroup, Bluey is polite with other dogs but mostly prefers being near people. She’s housetrained, dog-friendly, quiet, and gentle—an ideal match for a first-time dog owner or a family looking for a calm, loving companion. Bluey has been at Memphis Animal Services since May 19 and is currently safe for now in a foster home and office, but she needs a forever home or rescue ASAP.
