My story

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information.Marge arrived at MACC as a stray with no known history. During her stay at the care center, Marge displayed significant fearfulness. In her kennel, she would initially retreat to the back when approached by handlers and escalate to charging the front when they attempted to leash her. During her assessment, she exhibited stress signals such as panting and lip licking during contact. Marge has displayed a brief episode of kennel fighting and has growled at other dogs during introductions. Over time, with a very gradual and patient approach, Marge began to warm up to select handlers, eventually allowing handling and petting. She has since become slightly easier to remove from her kennel. Medically, she is apparently healthy.Marge arrived at MACC as a stray with no known history and has shown herself to be a sensitive and fearful girl. She often retreats to the back of her kennel and may escalate to defensive behavior when approached, though she's slowly begun to build trust with a few consistent handlers. During her assessment, she showed stress signals like panting and lip licking but responded positively to treats and gentle handling. Marge isn't a fan of other dogs and would do best as the only pet in an experienced, adult-only home where she can continue to feel safe and supported. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 58.8 Age: 6yrs 0mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Marge, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
