My story

NEWBIE ALERT!! This sweet little family was saved from living outdoors! Poor things were infested with fleas and parasites but treatment has started and they are settling in. Mom is a Chiweenie/Terrier mix and dad is a Chi. The babies should weigh 8-15 lbs as adults. They are 2 weeks old and will be ready at 9 weeks after 2 rounds of vaccines and they are altered. Momma Gigi is 2 years old and 12 lbs. She is as sweet as they come and loves all people and animals. She will be ready once puppies are weaned and she’s able to be spayed. We will be getting better pics of this whole family soon. We are taking apps and will be reserving them to the perfect forever homes. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
