My story

Meet Douglas! Douglas is a 2-year-old, 60 lb. mixed breed (with maybe a little Anatolian Shepherd in his DNA!) who’s ready to leave his past behind and start fresh with a family of his own. Found as a stray in the south, Douglas recently made the journey to Massachusetts in search of love, belly rubs, and a cozy couch to call his own.In his local foster home, Douglas is doing great with his crate training and leash walking, and he’s working hard on house training, too. He’s a mellow guy with a gentle soul, the kind of dog who enjoys a walk or two each day followed by plenty of couch time with his people.Douglas could go to a home with kids 5+, cats, and young, playful dogs. He’s not the kind of pup who needs to be on the go all day—medium energy is more his speed. If you’re looking for a steady companion who’s affectionate, polite, and down for daily snuggles, Douglas might just be your guy!His foster says, `Douglas is an all around good boy!! He is learning to be a house dog. Being inside is a new experience for him and he is getting used to our routines, and is learning so many new things! He`s very very sweet and well behaved. He enjoys his crate and sleeps well there at bedtime. Douglas loves all dogs, kids, people and doesn`t mind cats. He is playful and loves his sqeaky toys! Playing with his foster fur family is his favorite. He loves having a playmate! He has a kind and gentle soul and is not overly hyper. He fits in well with other furbabies and children too!! He prefers his kibble moistened and never turns down a treat.
