Enchilada is one of the rare orange female cats — only about 1 in 4 orange cats are girls, thanks to cat genetics being a whole wild ride. She’s part science fact, part mom icon, and all around too good for the hand she’s been dealt. She showed up at the shelter with a collar mark, no microchip, and a belly full of kittens. Then she gave birth in the shelter like the absolute pro she is. Now she’s busy being a kickass mom to a giant litter — but once they’re weaned, she’s officially off the clock. And no, she’s not interested in coming back. You wouldn’t want to either.Enchilada is sweet, grounded, and totally over being polite about how much she deserves stability. She’s accepting applications now — because when it’s time to go, she’s not looking back.Ideal for: orange cat enthusiasts, homes that don’t flinch at responsibility, and anyone ready to spoil a girl who’s done being the strong one.An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are a donation of choice.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Enchiladas, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
