My story

Meet Duke – Your Loyal, Fetch-Loving Best Friend! Age: 6 years | Breed: Labrador Retriever MixIdeal Home: No kids, no other pets | Personality: Athletic, loyal, and fun-lovingTraining Needs: Working on calm behavior, gentle treat-taking, and relaxation skillsDuke is a high-energy Lab mix with a heart full of love and a passion for fetch like no other. At 6 years old, he still has the zest of a young pup—quick on his feet, laser-focused on tennis balls, and happiest when he`s chasing after them in the yard. He’ll even sit politely and drop the ball, waiting eagerly for the next toss. It’s his favorite thing in the world!Shelter life has been tough on Duke. The noise, the stress, the constant activity—it’s a lot for a guy who thrives on structure, one-on-one time, and a calm environment. Despite that, he’s learning fast. Duke has been working hard with our team on leash manners, impulse control, and relaxing in new spaces. He’s also been introduced to food puzzles and enrichment games to keep that brilliant brain of his engaged. What makes Duke special?Fetch pro – will impress you with his speed, focus, and driveVery smart – picks up new skills quickly, especially with structureTennis ball = best friend – loves carrying one around to soothe himselfLearning to relax – enjoys slow walks, mental games, and a good chew toyWorking on being gentle – especially with treats (he’s a bit enthusiastic!)What Duke Needs:A pet-free, kid-free home where he can have your full attentionAn active, experienced owner who understands working breedsContinued training to help him with calm behavior and gentle mannersA predictable routine with outlets for his energy (fetch, puzzles, structured walks)Possibly calming supplements to support his progress (already being explored)Duke may be a bit much for a first-time dog owner, but for someone with experience and patience, he’ll be an incredible companion—loyal, goofy, and always ready for the next game. He doesn’t just want to play fetch—he wants to bond with you.Come meet Duke and see how quickly he’ll win your heart (and your tennis ball)!#AdoptDuke #FetchKing #LabradorLove #RescueDog #SmartAndStrong #ActiveDogNeedsActiveHome
