My story

Are you on a Quest for love? Then look no further—because Questlove is ready to meet you. This sweet, sensitive soul is as endearing as they come. Questlove may be a little nervous in new situations, but his gentle nature shines through once he feels safe. When first leashed, he can get a bit spooked, but he quickly regains his composure and walks well with only occasional pulling. He’s a curious guy who enjoys sniffing his surroundings, and though he might be hesitant to take treats from your hand, he appreciates finding them on the ground—sometimes offering a kiss or gentle step up to say thank you. During playtime, Questlove is still figuring things out. Squeaky toys make him a bit unsure, but crinkle toys and a quick game of tug can catch his attention before he happily goes back to exploring. In doggy playgroup, he was loose and wiggly at the gate with high tail wags, though he preferred to trot around on his own and check in with people rather than engage too much with other dogs. Getting back into his kennel is a bit tough for him—he gets nervous and needs a little extra support from staff and volunteers—but we know that with a patient, loving home, Questlove’s confidence will grow. He’s already shown his friendliness with his finder, volunteers, and dogs alike—and he’s just waiting for someone who will show him the same kindness in return. Come meet Questlove and help him find the loving home he deserves. He has a staff body but a mid level tail wag. I was able to easily leash him and remove him from the kennel. When he first came out, he seemed a little spooked by the leash and flailed around momentarily. He was able to regain composure and exit the kennel area. LEASH: QL mostly loose leash walks. Occasional moderate pulling. HANDLING: QL seemed mostly interested in sniffing. He had a stiff body for most of our interaction but soft eyes and a mid level tail. He would not accept treats from me but would eat some off the group. He seemed mildly spooked by noises. He allowed petting and stepped up on to me to give kisses. When it was time to return to his kennel, he walked okay until we reached his row and he put the breaks on. I would try to move forward but he was flail and try to back out of the leash. I tried to take a running start but he would panic when we got close. I had another volunteer put a belly loop on him and we were able to lift him into the kennel. PLAY & TOYS: QL show some interest in toys. The squeaker seemed to spook him. He did chase after a crinkle toy. He would play tug for a moment before losing interest and returning to sniffing. Playgroup 5/16: Questlove had high tail wags at the gate and was very loose, showing interest in the dogs. He was timid and curious in the yard, trotting around and doing his own thing. His interactions with dogs were minimal as he was more fond of people Per finder 5/15/25: Walked fine on leash and overall friendly ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
