My story

Josie is an absolutely adorable 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a personality as unique as her look! With her soft white coat and cute black spots, she’s basically the world’s tiniest cow—tipping the scales at just 7 pounds! This sweet girl is the definition of an old soul in a young dog’s body. She loves to sunbathe, lounge around like a tiny queen, and take slow, sniffy strolls to soak in the world around her. Josie is a bit shy when meeting new people and prefers to keep all four paws on the ground (she’s not a big fan of being picked up), but once she trusts you, she’ll happily accept gentle scritches. Her signature look? A perpetually adorable tongue hanging out! She’s searching for a calm, patient family who will respect her boundaries and let her blossom at her own pace. Because of her gentle nature, she’d do best in a home with kids 12 and up. If you’ve got cheese or jerky treats, Josie will be your best friend in no time! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
