My story

There is an adorable video of me on an ACC's TikTok page. Click here to experience the cuteness! All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered when appropriate. Please check here for updated adoption hours. My foster wrote: The first thing you have to know about Toby is that she is possibly the most social dog I've ever lived with (and I've lived with MANY dogs). This social butterfly loves a happy hour, a cafe visit, or a dinner out on the town! In a past life, she must've been a socialite, because there is not an outing this lovely girl doesn't like! The cherry on top is that she is so well behaved on outings! At restaurants she lays at your feet until a passerby says hello, which as you can imagine, she could never say no to. She is so friendly that we've had patrons and staff come out of said restaurants just to come say hi to Toby. What can I say, she's popular! Her friendly demeanor is only matched by her curiosity. We have often stopped on walks so that she can smell flowers, watch window washers, and people gardening. But what about inside, right? That's where her quirky, funny, spirit really shines. She sits in the bathtub while I get ready for the day, everyday. She has these little legs, so sometimes she gets stuck and you have to help her in and it's funny every time! She happily plays by herself and she rolls balls or round stuffed toys around. She even plays fetch with herself sometimes and it is THE CUTEST! And as social as this queen is, she doesn't have separation anxiety. She is very good at home alone and has never chewed on anything or barked. She is also never left in a crate and lounges in the apartment. Toby is very communicative inside and likes to chat! We call it her gremlin talk. Toby reminds me of the chatty dogs on YouTube! She will also make sure you know that she has to use the bathroom and hates having accidents inside. Lastly, she's a champion snuggler. As social and active as she is, there's nothing Toby loves more than being next to her person and cuddling. Ideally in a bed where she can cuddle and look out the window. She's a gem and if you love social dogs this fun, feisty, gal is for you! What is my behavior assessment?Toby has been assessed as a Level 2 dog. Toby is observed to bite and tug on the leash, but this behavior is easily redirected using treats. We recommend walking her with a toy to dissuade them from grabbing the leash. Positive reinforcement, force-free training is advised to teach her to focus on you rather than grabbing the leash. Primary Color: Gray Weight: 61 Age: 6yrs 0mths 0wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Toby, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
