This is not your average, bite-sized chicken nugget! Our Chicken Nugget is a big boy with a big heart, looking for someone to help him learn all the best doggie skills. He has a head start already, having arrived knowing sit and shake. He`s loving his walks with volunteers and is particularly fond of the opportunity to play with toys in the play-yards!Given that he`s a big guy with a big presence, he would likely do best with older kids and would love the opportunity to meet the entire family. If you also have doggy family members, he`d love to have an introduction led by shelter staff to ensure that everyone is set up for a successful life together.Chicken Nugget got to spend the day away from the shelter. Sounds like a good time was had by all! -- `What a treat it was to spend the day with Chicken Nugget. I nicknamed him Nuggs because it was easier! Nuggs was a bit uneasy at first, jumping into the back of my SUV. With some treat encouragement and urging, he did jump in. He rode pretty good in the back when tethered and enjoyed looking out the windows. At the park, Nuggs was in his element. He enjoyed walking, all the scents, drinking from the fountains, and wanted to discover the small creatures - birds and squirrels. Nuggs wasn`t overly interested in other dogs he saw and welcomed attention from other humans. In our home he was relatively calm, loved playing with toys, destroyed a baseball but didn`t bother letting it go when asked. Nuggs enjoyed the backyard and went potty each time he went out, just like a pro. He didn`t seem to be bothered by loud noises. During our day we experienced hard rain, thunder, and very loud road construction near the house. None of these seem to get his attention. We finished the day by taking Nuggs to a patio for a snack and cold beverage. The patio was mostly empty so he laid down and relaxed. After getting in and out of the SUV, by the end of the day he jumped up fairly easy. Nuggs has a great deal of energy but focuses on playing and exploring. His initial uneasiness faded quickly and he loves attention with ear scratches and eventually belly rubs. Once indoors he relaxed completely and chilled. Anyone wanting a sweet boy that loves activities and affection should consider Nuggs.`Chicken Nugget is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. His ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are de
