My story

*Please note that Shasta is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and must be adopted to someone in the Houston area.* Shasta is a 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel beauty weighing about 19 pounds, with soulful eyes and the softest chocolate curls. She’s gentle, affectionate, and full of quiet charm. Shasta loves being close to her people. She’ll happily curl up at your feet, follow you around the house, or lean in for some ear scratches and belly rubs. She gets along well with dogs her size and has been incredibly patient with her foster sister (even when snacks are involved!). Shasta has a great appetite and is very food motivated. Mealtime? Absolute highlight of her day. She’s also house trained and does wonderfully on car rides—just settles in and enjoys the ride, making her an easy travel buddy. While she can be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly in a calm environment. Once she settles in, her sweet personality really starts to shine. She enjoys short walks, cozy beds, and being near her people—all the simple things that bring her joy. Shasta would thrive in a peaceful, loving home, perhaps with a gentle dog friend or a family who’s around often. She’s the kind of companion who brings peace, comfort, and quiet joy into your life. If your idea of joy is a soulful pup who gives more love than she takes, Shasta is your girl.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shasta, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
