My story

How this pet arrived: Sandy was brought in by her previous owner on April 27, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Sandy, a sweet senior girl with a heart full of love and a whole lot of pep in her step! Despite her age, she still lights up when she gets the chance to run off leash, chase squirrels like a pro, and soak up all the attention she can get. Her whole body wiggles with joy when she sees her favorite people, and she loves nothing more than laying her head in your lap for quiet cuddle time. Sandy is very calm in the home and enjoys being petted-she's truly a gentle soul. While she can be a bit shy at first, she warms up with kindness and patience. Because of her sensitivity, especially in medical settings, she's looking for a home without young kids. Sandy does have some medical needs: she has dental disease and areas of hair loss on her back due to an infection, though she's responding well to treatment. With the right care and lots of chin scratches, Sandy is ready to thrive in a new home. Will you be the one to give Sandy the love and comfort she's longing for in her golden years? At SDHS:Sandy has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 74.2 Age: 10yrs 0mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sandy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
