My story

Please contact Kallie Brennan (kallieb@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy ready to play! PUGSLEY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!     Name: Pugsley   Best Guess for Breed:   Lab and terrier mix Best Guess for Age:  1.5 years as of May 2025         SEX: Male   Approximate Weight:  70 lbs   Gets Along With:   Pugsley loves his humans, but he shouldn't go to a home with other animals or children.   Currently Living at:   DC area home   What my foster says about me: 'Pugsley is a very sweet boy.  He has high energy during the day. But at night time he is all about cuddling up with his person. He is a bit of a lap dog and sometimes is unmindful of anything you may be doing (like homework on a laptop). He is very smart, and enjoys a good puzzle or treat dispenser. He doesn't bark excessively, but he does have a range of very expressive vocalizations that will crack you up and tug at your heart. He is also very curious. You can see him thinking as he explores his environment. We cannot say enough good about him and wish we were able to keep him ourselves. He is very playful with his humans. He loves chasing flashlight beams and laser pointers. You can literally lead him around the house this way. He absolutely adores playing fetch. He also likes spending a little time out in the yard just enjoying the outdoors.  He knows basic commands to include “touch” (instead of come), “sit”, “down”, 'stay',  and “shake”. Sometimes he barks at his own reflection in windows or in skylights. He hasn't quite figured that out. He only sees his reflection in the skylight at night, when he protects the whole family from 'sky-dog'. When he was younger he was a fast eater, and so he will bring his slow-feeder bowl. But as he has filled out this has been less of an issue. He is still food-focused which comes in handy during training. We are working on his leash manners as he’s an eager guy and likes to pull, so a harness may be a good investment.'     Pugsley is Looking For:  Pugsley is a happy young boy who loves his people and loves life! He's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to burn it through romps in parks, super super long sniffy walks (bonus if they're out on trails), and all the adventures his humans can dream up.    He's basically your sturdy all-around active companion, ready to go wherever you go, by your side for life. If you're looking for someone to explore the world with, someone who can keep up with you - consider Pugsley! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament. Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at      www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!     Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs! To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
