My story

Please welcome Muggsy Dogues! This resilient and lovable big boy has been through a lot lately, but his spirit has never wavered. Muggsy’s journey to us started in the most heartbreaking way...he was found abandoned, chained to a fence for weeks before a kind-hearted rescuer stepped in. She freed him from his grim situation, gave him a safe place to land, and made sure he got much-needed medical attention. Knowing that Muggsy has special needs due to his idiopathic epilepsy, she reached out to us to ensure he’d get the long-term care and love he deserves. We couldn’t be more grateful to her for giving Muggsy a second chance at life!Since arriving at our rescue, Muggsy has shown us just how strong and joyful he truly is. His epilepsy is being managed with medication, and so far, his seizures have been under control. Going forward, Muggsy will need regular vet check-ups and consistent medication to keep him feeling his best. With proper care, he can continue to thrive and live a happy, active life. Despite everything he’s been through, Muggsy has proven to be a gentle giant. At 31 pounds and just 3 years old, he’s a big pug with an even bigger heart. He’s thrilled to be in a safe, loving environment, and he makes the most of his newfound freedom by playing, snuggling, and soaking up affection.Muggsy loves to go on walks and play with his favorite toys, and he’s working on his basic commands! He already knows how to sit and is practicing giving his paw! He’s incredibly food-motivated and loves treats, making training sessions a breeze. Muggsy gets along well with other dogs and would do best with a canine friend who can match his size and energy. After everything he’s endured, Muggsy is more than ready for a loving forever home where he can feel safe, cherished, and appreciated.
