FIV+DOB: 1/27/2020 Ten-four, good buddy—name’s Charlie. I’ve been down a few dusty roads in my time. Used to be a TNR cat, living life out on the streets, dodging storms and raccoons and the occasional tossed boot. I’ve got the scars to prove it—especially these eyes. Bit of scarring, sure, but I see just fine when it counts. I may look a little rough around the edges, but underneath the weathered fur is a good ol’ boy who’s just looking to park the rig for good and find a place to rest his paws. These days, I’m off the road and into the slow lane—looking for a human to share a warm couch, a soft blanket, and maybe some head scritches after a long haul of a life. I’m not high maintenance. I don’t need shiny toys or fancy treats—just a little love and a lot of understanding. If you’ve got a quiet place and a kind heart, I think we’d make a good team. Over and out. Come meet me—I’ll be waiting at the rest stop (aka the adoption center). Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.** Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection. FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered.
