My story

Meet Copper! He is a 3 yr old neutered male Pitbull mix that weighs 53lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/13 as an owner surrender. Reason for the surrender is that the other dogs did not like him. So sweet Copper has found himself at the shelter. With all the noise at the shelter it does make him a bit nervous of the unknown. The more time spent with him, the more at ease he is becoming. It was easy to see he has a calm, gentle and loving personality. He would come over and sit near me. And after time petting and talking to him, he leaned his head into my hand. He enjoys being petted as it gives him comfort. I feel he lived indoors, and maybe housetrained. He walks well on leash, and does take treats gently. Walking past other dogs barking at him he didn`t have any reaction. He is dog friendly as he has lived with other dogs, but it`s still important to ask for a dog test if there will be another dog in the home. It`s very clear to see how much love he has to give, just look in his eyes. We will continue to spend time with Copper and help him find his final loving family that he so rightly deserves. Where he has a secured yard to play in, but lives indoors with his human companions he can cuddle close with.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Copper, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
