My story

Callie is a petite darling damsel of a dog. She is a really good companion, and will be a vibrant, happy addition to any family. She’s dog friendly and a great athlete! She's a happy girl that's ready for her new adventure! We believe that Callie is a Husky mix of some sort, though she is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses. Callie is estimated to be around 1.5 years old, and we believe she'll stay this small forever, at just about 35 pounds. She currently lives with her foster doggy brother and has a blast running around with him in the yard! She also did great meeting a couple of our pals during her visit with us! Callie doesn’t live with young kids, but she visits the neighbors' kids and is very sweet around them! We are willing to see how she interacts with a specific age group of kiddos that will be around Callie, if needed! We are happy to assist in order to ensure she's the perfect match for you! Treats and toys are the way to Callie’s heart. This pretty lady absolutely loves to play, and more than that, she loves to run! She is never going to shy away from a friendly game of tag. It’s one of her favorite things to do! She loves treats of all kinds, and loves loves loves cheese! Callie is best described as affectionate but not needy. This sweet little angel would soak up your pets and attention all day if you'd let her, but she isn't overly persistent in her requests for pets and attention. She is completely capable of entertaining herself with a toy or a nap, and we think she would make an amazing work from home companion because of it! We believe that Callie would be a great fit for an active family that will play with her in the backyard, take her on adventures, and give her a joyful and eventful life. She would absolutely love the cherished dog lifestyle! Callie would be fine in a home with kitties, she was carefully cautious with our house cat Biggie! She also lives with a kitty in her foster home. We consider Callie cat tolerant and would be okay rooming with a dog savvy kitty. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there!
