Meet Bongo! The four-legged happy guy with a passion for fashion (hats especially, please) and a PhD in cuddling. If you’ve been dreaming of a low-drama roommate who politely asks for snacks and is guaranteed to steal your heart, Bongo’s your guy. He’s mild-mannered, super chill, and basically the canine equivalent of a cozy weighted blanket, only cuter and occasionally wearing a cowboy hat. He is definitely the guy you take to play dress up! Peep his many outfit changes in the video below!! https://youtu.be/zSetPFJKVGc Bongo is a Pittie mix who we believe is about 3 years old. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed are not guaranteed. But we are sure of this, Bongo is a certified best boy! I want to start off by bragging about Bongo's manners. Typically dogs will just invade personal space in order to snag a taste of their human’s food. But not Bongo! He was such a gentleman as he sat patiently looking at Sara eating her pizza during lunch time. He didn’t whine or paw at her. He just sat there, sharing glances of sweet puppy eyes. He will be a great partner during meal time and who knows, maybe he can be rewarded with a treat for his good boy behavior! Bongo isn’t going to be the dog that invites you to join him in a race across the backyard. Instead, he will wait for your company to join him in relaxing on the couch! Due to his petite size and his calm demeanor, he could live his best life in a house or an apartment. The only thing Bongo desires is a cozy space to lounge. Bongo currently lives with his foster doggy sister and they enjoy spending time together! She prefers active play and Bongo tries to give it his best bet, but he slows down pretty quickly! Cardio isn’t his specialty. Bongo is considered dog friendly, and would do well in a home with other mild mannered canines. But, he also adores attention and would thrive as being a solo pupperoni as well! Bongo is perfectly content hanging out around children as well! He lives with his human foster brother who is 15 months old and loves to give him toe kisses. He’s more of a stoic observer than a playmate, but he is happy to offer a lick or two before settling in to nap nearby. Bongo doesn’t live with any kitty cats. But he did well around our house cat Biggie!! He was curiously cautious during introductions, but lost interest in him very quickly. Due to his behavior, we can consider him cat tolerant and would do well in a home with dog savvy kitties! Overall, Bongo is just looking for a family to match his chill aura. He is ready for a family to love him so that he can love them back! Adopt Bongo and upgrade your life with good vibes, great snuggles, and a dog who pulls off accessories better than most humans. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
