My story

Meet Baptiste! Baptiste is an easygoing, affectionate puppy with a calm presence and a heart full of love. This gentle boy is the perfect balance of playful and cuddly—he enjoys chasing a ball, squeaking his favorite toys, and then settling down for a good snuggle. He’s great with other dogs and takes comfort in following their lead, especially when learning new routines. Baptiste is crate trained and currently sleeps in his crate in the bedroom, though he occasionally sneaks in a daytime nap there on his own. While he's still working on potty training, he’s making progress and hasn’t marked in the house in several days. He seems to be picking up good habits from the older dogs in the home. He’s been on a bland diet and probiotics due to some digestive sensitivity from recent deworming, but he’s been doing well and seems to be feeling better each day. Baptiste is a bit sensitive to loud noises or sudden movements, but he's gradually coming out of his shell and relaxing more as he gains confidence in his surroundings. He absolutely loves being outside—whether it's romping in the yard or riding in the truck, he’s always eager to explore. He even met horses and miniature donkeys with calm curiosity! If you're looking for a sweet, loyal pup who thrives on companionship and gentle care, Baptiste may just be your perfect match. He’s a soft soul who’s happiest near his people and will make a wonderful, loving addition to a kind and patient home. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
