My story

Meet Iris, a 3-year-old Chinese Crested Powder Puff weighing in at 11 pounds. Sweet and gentle Iris is blossoming into the life she was always meant to have. Rescued from a puppy mill where she spent her entire life, everything is new to her — but she's taking each step with quiet curiosity and a tender heart. Iris is doing wonderfully with her potty training and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate. She's very dog-friendly and loves riding in the car, happily watching the world go by. While she's still learning to walk on a leash, a secure, fenced-in yard is a must while she builds confidence. This little shadow is never far behind you — if you leave the room, she’s right there checking on you. Though she hasn’t quite figured out how to play with other dogs yet, she watches them closely and is learning by example. During the day, you’ll often find her napping peacefully on her soft, fluffy bed. Iris would thrive in a calm, patient home with older, dog-savvy kids who understand her gentle nature. With time, love, and stability, Iris is sure to become the devoted companion she was always meant to be. Iris is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, heart worm negative and on heartworm preventative, de-wormed, had a dental, and microchipped. Iris’s adoption fee is $400.00. Please go to our website aaprescue.org to learn about our adoption process

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Iris, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
