My story
If you are a dachshund fan, get ready to say “aye, aye Captain, I want to adopt you!” Captain is 7 years old and was surrendered to PK after his owner moved out of state and could not take him. He is a long-haired dachshund who weighs 20 lbs. Captain is friendly and a lover of walks and soft, meaty treats. He enjoys receiving pets and is also a fan of having his long, luscious locks brushed. Captain is not a fan of kitties, but purportedly gets along with other dogs, though he will growl at other dogs if they approach his food. He has spent time around children of all ages; however, given the potential food guarding, we think he would do best in a home without very young children.
