My story

2 year old Flat-Coated Retriever mix IZZY is the total package! Weighing in at just 40 pounds, Izzy is the perfect size for big hugs… and she lives for them! Within seconds of meeting you, Izzy will politely insist on belly rubs and snuggles. She’s got a medium to high energy level and would thrive in a home with an active person or family. She enjoys walks, exploring green patches, and is fully house-trained. Izzy is also crate trained. While she’s generally a sweetheart, she’s still working on her leash manners and can be reactive to other dogs when out and about. With slow introductions, she does well with dog friends, and she’s previously lived successfully with other pups in foster and before coming to the shelter which we rescued her from! Izzy is smart, eager to please, and a good listener, especially when she knows cuddles are coming.
