My story

Say hello to Romeo — a 2-year-old Pekingese mix with a joyful heart and a whole lot of personality packed into his adorable 12-pound frame! Romeo is truly one of the happiest little guys you’ll ever meet. His tail is always wagging, and his smooshy face is almost always sporting a grin. He adores people and loves being wherever you are. While he’s not a lap dog, he’s happiest by your side and absolutely loves being carried like the little prince he is. Romeo is full of playful energy and would thrive in a home where he has space to explore and stretch his legs. He’s a big fan of outdoor time — whether it’s sniffing around the yard, trotting around the lawn, or just soaking up the sunshine. Romeo is smart and curious, and he’s learning new skills every day. He enjoys interactive toys and is especially passionate about tug-of-war — it's his favorite game! He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys his outings, especially when he gets to take the lead on a little adventure. Bonus: when he hears a fire truck, he’ll sing along with the sirens — just one of the many ways this little guy brings smiles wherever he goes. Romeo loves other dogs, especially those close to his size, and currently lives with larger pups who he gets along with well. Like many small dogs, he appreciates a slow introduction to new canine friends, but once he's comfortable, he’s ready to play! He also rides beautifully in the car, often sitting like a gentleman with his front legs crossed. Romeo is both house and crate trained. He is looking for a home with a secure fenced yard where he can enjoy his favorite outdoor activities. Due to his active and curious nature, he’s not suited for apartment, condo, or townhome living. Romeo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. At this time, we are only accepting adoption applications from the Greater Charlotte, NC area and a few immediate surrounding counties. If you're looking for a happy, fun-loving companion who brings joy and laughter wherever he goes, Romeo just might be your perfect match. To apply, email adopt@carolinapaws.com.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Romeo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
