My story

Lills is a courtesy listing for the kind folks who took her in when her former owner kicked her out and refused to care for her. We cannot imagine why, because this is a really lovely dog! We don't know anything about Lills parents, but our best guess is that she's a lab/cataloula mix, perhaps with some American Pit Bull Terrier? She has some brindle markings and some merle patches. She's a really beautiful, unique pup. She's is a little over a year old, about 60lbs, spayed, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. She's crate trained, potty trained and rarely barks. Like most labs, Lills is obsessed with tennis balls and carries one in her mouth 90% of the time. She's not super-high-energy for a young lab/catahoula mix, but she needs daily exercise like all dogs. Once she's burned off some energy, she's observant, curious and eager to please-- she'll be fun to train! Her foster home calls her "remarkable" and they would love to keep her, if their schedules weren't so busy. She's social and respectful with other dogs, and loves to play. She would definitely chase cats though. She hasn't been around kids much, but her foster reports that she's done well with the limited interactions she's had. She'd probably be best in a home with older kids, since she's pretty big and boisterous. If you're interested in meeting Lills, please fill out an application on our website, and we will connect you with her foster home. www.northmeckanimalrescue.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lills, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
